Christmas present

I have just had a 3 hour 1to 1 glass blowing workshop, it was the best gift I have ever received. Stuart is highly skilled & ensures you really get hands on & I made 4 tumblers, a large vase & a fruit bowl I am so proud. I cannot understand why people are not knocking down his door, go on treat yourself (or your loved one) you will not regret it. Thanks Stuart, "Ill be back"

Freeform Studio Glass of Weymouth is a totally unique glassblowing experience. If you are looking for bespoke and stunning vases, contemporary ornaments, glass animals, unique wine glasses or the chance to blow some glass yourself then Freeform is definitely the place to go.

Freeform is owned and was started by Stuart Wiltshire who has been a glass maker for 15 years. He started glass making at Dartington Crystal in 1996 thanks to his Dad who is a furnace man. He fell in love with it instantly and used to spend every dinner time practicing and getting help and tips from the masters. when he was 19 he moved to Sweden to work for Orrefors, widely know as the home of glassblowing where again he worked with some extremely skilled and talented master glass makers. He did return to Dartington a few years later, this is when he also started working with various other studios such as blown (Nick Orsler), Bristol Blue South West & Simon Moore. In 2007 he started to plan his own studio (well just dreaming really) until he told a few people what he wanted to do and was very lucky to get all the help he needed through Friends and family so a big thanks to all of them.

His passion nowadays is for coloured handmade glass and he tries to make every item unique and individual. He also makes ornaments of children's hand and foot castings in glass with the youngest print so far being from his Daughter when she was just 5 days old so there's a challenge for some one to try and beat. The process takes just a few minutes to do and the finished product can be engraved with dates and names. The glass needs to be cooled slowly over twenty-four hours so your hand cast will be available to collect the day after the imprint has been done or, for a small amount, we can pack and post you item to you.

At the studio in Weymouth you can also have a go yourself with our new 2 hour glass blowing experience.

Commission work is undertaken and Freeform also makes corporate and business promotional items – the most popular each year are the Christmas baubles which can be blown with a company logo or message included.

You can now buy on line and view other items for sale by visiting the website at the link above.

    nice job Stuart

Just picked up a decanter my partner and I commissioned for a 50th Wedding Anniversary gift. Stuart had not made a top for one before but has made superb job of this and we are really pleased with it. Would reccomend Stu to anyone looking for a special gift.

    Service isn't a dirty word...

I was looking for an unusual gift for my girlfriend for Christmas and approached Stuart to make me a unicorn. Although he had never made a unicorn he gave it a go and came up with an absolutely fantastic Unicorn which my girlfriend adores. Well, he actually came up with 2 as he wasn't happy with the first one. Not only that, he let us keep the first one as well!! And all for a ridiculously low price. A fabulous pice of work and a thoroughly decent guy. I can't praise him and his team highly enough. Andy.

What a great experience for my little girl!

I took my daughter, who is 3, to see freeform glass. She was amazed that she could make moulds of her hands in sand and then watch as Stuart poured the molten glass into the moulds. 1 day later and my littleone has a great handprint gift for each set of grandparents for christmas and for £14 each - bargain. Definately recommend.
