The Dining Room in Weymouth is a restaurant experience in contemporary cuisine. Recently opened in Weymouth, we welcome you to experience a fine blend of culinary styles with influences including Arabic, Far Eastern and Modern European cuisine
Chef, Taher Jibet is a master of authentic Modern European cooking with a strong Mediterranean influence. Taher was classically trained in French cuisine at the prestigious Les Roches catering school. He has acquired a wealth of experience working in various restaurants in Spain and the UK. This includes his time at the Michelin star Mirabelle in Mayfair, London where he benefited from the tutelage of Marco Pierre White and began to enhance the traditional and create a contemporary twist to dining.
Later, he was instrumental in setting up a new restaurant in Islington as the Head Chef. Taher's exciting menu was well received and he gained excellent reviews from well respected critics including Faye Maschler, (London's Evening Standard), and Jay Rayner, (The Observer). Jay in particular was a huge fan! (See reviews below).
Taher was also invited to join The Gore Hotel in South Kensington and revise the menu at the restaurant formally run by Antony Worrall Thompson. As Executive Head Chef he created a modern British menu with a Mediterranean influence.
Whilst at The Gore, Taher appeared on Masterchef 2009 when he put three contestants through their paces cooking breakfast for eighty guests. His insistence on perfectly shaped poached eggs was a memorable feature of the programme!
