Why I like Weymouth

Just walking to town or going to the corner shop I can see the sea and the cliffs and it makes me feel privilaged to live here in Weymouth. It's steeped in history and for the most part is a beautiful place to live.

Why I don't like Weymouth

My biggest gripe is how dirty Weymouth is. There is so much in and around Weymouth that is the responsibility of but completely untouched by the Council. I have lived here for nearly 6 years now and I have never seen the urine stained and smelly alley next to Rendevous cleaned or pressure washed. Old Castle Road which goes from Rodwell Road down to the King Henry 8th Castle is overgrown from the end of peoples front gardens so that half the pavement has dissappeared which makes it dangerous for families to walk, this is because so much of the pavement has vanished beneath weeds and overgrown gardens, something easily rectified with a man and a hoe, unfortunately according to Council Spokeswoman Tara Gooding, Weymouth Council does not employ a man with a hoe anymore and this is why hundreds of streets like Old Castle Road are in such a bad state of disrepair. I've seen other towns and cities where you could eat your dinner off the floor but unfortunately the people voted in or employed to look after the town and it's inhabitants don't care and it shows! This is a real shame because all that is needed is a few responsible people to actually care about the town and untill that happens there are parts of the town, the beach and the beautiful harbour that will remain dirty and dingy.
