Are Weymouth victims of anti-social behaviour let down by the police?

How do you feel about anti-social behaviour in Weymouth and Portland? Are the police bothered? Are they too soft or are they just about right?
According to the Chief Inspector of Constabulary in news stories on the BBC website, the Daily Mail and the Guardian, published today, the police aren't doing enough to help victims of anti-social behaviour.
How bad is yobbish behaviour around you? Is it bad enough to make you you feel threatened when you go out?
Is there somewhere in your town where the yobs hang out and
cause problems? Or is it that kids have nothing else to do?
How many of us would be prepared to confront a group of kids making a
nuisance of themselves?
Maybe our local police are doing enough but it's the justice system that's too soft.
Let us know your views.

And I thought my neighbours from hell were bad enough, willis1971, my heart goes out to you. My neighbours have 4 teenagers, with mouths like sewers, and the parents aren`t really much better, their favourite word is the f word, in just normal everyday talking not just when they are upset or angry. With their scooters revving, mates round with scooters revving most of the day, doing wheelies in the street on their scooters, cars revving, driving like they are on a race track, music thumping, chavvy dog barking day and night, it is not a heavenly place to live. Yes I`ve complained, police and council, but whats the point, try monitoring them, yeah right, if thats going to do any good. I have had abuse, my kids get abuse when they are out too.I`d love to move, but seeing i have made official complaints I have to declare that on any forms for prospective buyers, and who with any sort of brain would want to buy my house ??!!! It does affect your health, i used to be a happy go lucky person, not any more, I`m bitter and unhappy, and it`s all down to one family moving in to what was once a very nice place to live. But what is the answer to these people who can destroy a street within hours of them moving in, especially if it`s a non council house ?

ReportThat's an absolutely terrible tale of woe, Craig. It is just not fair that these people seem to get away with it and the council take the easy option of pursuing the parking matter. Did you or are you going to take your campaign to your MP or prospective parliamentary candidate?

ReportAnti Social Behavior my story.
I bought my guesthouse in April 2007 and took a bankrupt business to a 3 star rated profitable guesthouse in 12 months. All was well until in September 2008 the family from hell moved in next door... At first a girl moved in with baby, then the boyfriend, then the dog, then the brother. Before long it seemed like half the neighborhood were “popping” in for something, there was fighting, parties, police raids, cat feces was thrown onto my terrace, gangs hanging around outside. If you live next to this it is awful, but to run a business as well, it is devastating. Not only were we getting no sleep when these disturbances were happening, but neither were our guests. This resulted in endless refunds, cancellations and complaints. From a personal point of view, the stress on my family was intolerable, and for those that have been through what we went through will know that the anger and resentment this builds is tangible. The council’s response wholly inadequate, they ask you to build a case, which can take months, they send a letter to the tenants in our case this resulting in verbal and physical threats in one incident the occupier blatently walked into me in the street trying to provoke me, which can take months whilst you are doing this you are suffering at the hands of individuals, who simply to do not care, that your personal lives and businesses are being destroyed by their behavior, they are allowed to behave as they wish. In the summer of 2009, one of my guests who had the misfortune of staying in the room next to the tenants decided that enough was enough, and decided that not only did they want refunding for the previous night, but they were cancelling the next 2 nights, on top of that, they left with my parking permit. This particular episode was to cost me another £300. Being a Friday afternoon with new arrivals immanent, I had no chance of getting to the council to get another permit, so I copied a permit that I already had, I didn’t gain an extra 1, there was no financial gain, and there was no intention to deceive. I copied it with my scanner and gave it the guests on their arrival. That weekend the guests were issued a ticket, I paid the fine, the permit was destroyed and we moved on. The rest as they say is history, I had to plead guilty, which I did right from the very start as to waste no more of anybody’s time. The punishment for such a heinous crime was, a £1500 fine taking us to the verge of bankruptcy, my name and business broadcasted on Wessex Fm every hour for a whole day, my name and picture and wholly one sided story displayed in the Echo for all to see, like I was some master forger. The hours they spent on the case were justification for the fine; I just wish they had spent just a fraction of that time investigating the problems that led upto this unfortunate incident in the first place. The occupants eventually left after I built my own case against the landlady of the premises. As I say, the councils response was wholly inadequate, it their responsibility to look after the welfare of everyone in the community not just council tenants. My problem tenants moved on to annoy someone else no doubt, replaced by young lads, parties and more loud noise and disturbance. I’m expecting another summer similar to the last one and I guess my guests and I will bear the brunt of a far too lenient approach to a dev
