As the Gambling Commission prepares to visit the Weymouth area next week as part of a series of open events,  Weymouth People would like to know what you think about gambling.

Whether it's amusement arcades, bookies or those online poker adverts, gambling is a part of every day life. Is it harmless fun, good for business or dangerous? We'd like to hear your opinions.

The events are part of a nationwide outreach programme to give

smaller gambling businesses the chance to meet the commission and

discuss industry issues.

The local event is being held on Monday 22 March at The Heights Hotel, Yeates Road, Portland.

Key individuals from the commission will be

present and more than 30 small businesses

from the Weymouth area are expected to attend.

After consulting operators, the commission has

drawn up an agenda to cover a broad range of issues, including fees

and the exclusion of minors. Time has been allocated to

discuss arcades, on-course bookmakers and off-course

bookmakers, and the commission welcomes suggestions from operators

for further topics.

More than 200 operators have attended similar

events in the North West and South West in recent weeks

and further meetings are planned across Britain over the

next three months.
