Here's a list of ten top places drawn up with your help. Let us know what you think of these places and add your own - you can even review certain places via the business directory on this website.
Weymouth Pavilion is a top place for entertainment - local, national and international. The Pavilion complex can be found at the end of the seafront.
The Sealife Park is hugely popular all year round. Kids just love getting up close and personal with creatures from the deep. An educational attraction and, best of all, great fun.
The RSPB reserve at Radipole Lake is another great place to take the children or just wander around to spot nature at its best.
The Springhead - off the beaten track in the pretty village of Sutton Poyntz. From here you can do a four-mile walk taking in the famous Osmington White Horse. This chalk figure can be seen from Weymouth sea front but is a little way away inland.
The Smugglers Inn is not far away at Osmington Milles and has a lovely garden anda short walk down to the beach.
South Dorset Ridgeway - a great place for a walk, with sweeping views across to Weymouth, Portland and The Fleet. There is a great circular walk starting at Martinstown. You can also take your mountain bike.
Portland Bill and its lighthouse are worth a visit. You can really feel the strength of the wind and waves. It feels good to be on dry land.
Moonfleet Manor Hotel, on the Bridport road out of Weymouth, is a great place to have lunch or even stop over if you fancy a luxury break. You drive down the long lane and past the eerie church and you could be driving right back into the past. The decor inside is sumptious.
If you drive a little further along the coast you get to Abbotsbury, famous for its swannery. There is a great review on the website - you can make a whole day of it by including a walk up to St Catherine's Chapel and a mooch around the village.
There are lots more places to go in Weymouth - where are your favourites?
