Cerebra gives local child trampoline

Sabrina Jasmine Ward, a 10 year old from Weymouth,
was given a grant for a trampoline recently by Cerebra, the charity for brain
injured children.
Sabrina’s mother, Portia told us, “Sabrina has been
diagnosed with Fragile X Syndrome, this is a genetically inherited
learning disability which has resulted in severe learning difficulties and
behavioural problems.
“Sabrina loved her tricycle when she was younger,
but has grown too tall for the 'toddler' tricycle, even when she had really out
grown it, she would go on her tricycle though her knees were by her
chin!
“She couldn't get to grips with a two
wheeler bicycle, even with stabilisers- so when we received the leaflet, and
read that Cerebra could help us with this we decided to apply.
“We were so pleased when we got confirmation
of the grant. We selected a tricycle firm, who delivered the
tricycle to our door.
“We are looking forward to Sabrina
cycling down the prom and the freedom and happiness she
will get from this!”
Cerebra is holding an
event in the local area to discuss legacy giving which offers supporters the
opportunity to leave a donation in their will.
Arthur
Parkinson, head of the Cerebra Legacy team said, “The future is an uncertain place, particularly in light
of the economic climate and we want to make sure our work in Weymouth, as well
as around the UK, is guaranteed for future generations.
That is why we have launched
a campaign both locally and nationwide to encourage legacy giving.
It’s
easy and every gift, big or small, will make a huge difference to so many
children many years from now.”
Cerebra are holding an
event in Weymouth for keen supporters who are interested in leaving a legacy.
The complimentary meal and
talks from Arthur and the team will be at Moonfleet Manor Hotel on June 8th
and there is limited availability so please ring Arthur at the legacy team on:
07500 972320.
