Mums, now the children are back at school, how about some ‘me’

time?
For many, it’s been six weeks of being a full-on mum. It’s
great to spend quality time with the kids, but it’s hard work.
If you have the time, think about yourself. Just do it. It’s
OK to be a bit selfish every now and then. Pamper yourself, you deserve it.
You’ll find a variety of places in our business directory –
hairdressers, spas, beauty salons. Or if it’s your brain you need to relocate,
how about signing up for an evening class in singing, psychology or sewing?
'Never underestimate the power of a good hair-do' - so says Talking Heads' frontman David Byrne.
A new cut +a new colour = a
new you. Weymouth is blessed with lots of good hairdressers. Some good ones to
try include:
Venus in St Leonards Road - some good reviews in our directory. Warm and friendly and great results.
SJ's in Brewer's Qauy. Make a mornig of it and meet a friend for lunch.
Petite's in Great George Street.
Spas
Oasis Day Spa prides itself on providing a
clean air environment offering a holistic and noninvasive approach to
all nail, skin and body services.
Moonfleet Manor - escape for a few hours in the lovely surroundings of Moonfleet. Put you feet up, relax and indulge yourself. Bliss.
Weymouth Day Spa - all sorts of lovely treatments. Mother and daughter, treatments even for him. And centrally located, too.
While you're out and about pampering yourself, book yourself a nice lunch with mum or a friend. Or go to a girly film at the cinema or get out a great DVD to enjoy with friends.
If all this pampering is too self-indulgent, enrol on a course at the fabulous Weymouth College: 'Whether you're starting your journey towards employment or higher
education, need a change of direction or want to get ahead in your
chosen career - whatever you want to be - we can help you. We offer
courses from level 1 right the way through to a degree'.
There's also Kingston Maurward College, Dorchester, for land-based and agricultural courses.
You could also try an adult learning course - go to the Dorsetforyou website.
