Can't believe a Facebook group has been set up for more places in Weymouth to let dogs loose. If you've ever steped in a pile of dog sh*t or pushed a pram through, you'll agree that not only should they be on leads they should be wearing nappies.

If you read the content of the reason behind it, it's not a case of them being let loose everywhere, it's a case of the council not communicating enough. I abhor dogs fouling and the owners who don't bother to pick it up, but they are the minority. The majority of dog owners in Weymouth are responsible and pick up after their dogs.

Opposite me is a field and notice requesting dog owners exercise dogs elsewhere - the field is a play area for children. I do walk my dog through to some lanes at the back - I have never seen dog mess there, (and dogs are taken there) I always pick up after my dog - last week some children used this field with adults and had a picnic - great! I went there the next day to find all their rubbish thrown into a corner - now just who are the untrained? Whose fault ? children or/and parents?
People who do not clear up after their pet, won't clear up if the dog is on or off lead. The minority is suffering as usual in this society.
