I don't usually agree with councillors but Angus Campbell is spot on when he describes the relief road as a 'triumph' and an 'historic moment'. Finally, we can say 'good riddance' to Weymouth traffic queues on the Ridgeway!

About time too. Ever since I came to Weymouth , they've been talking about the road. First it was the route - Orange, Brown - and then there were bats and protestors then public inquiries. Then they started digging that massive slice through the Ridgeway and lots of people thought it was painful seeing the countryside dug up. But it's nearly open and I bet loads of people like me can't wait to drive along it. I hope it's worth it and makes a big difference to us all.

ReportAnyone been on it yet? I thought it was interesting that in the Echo it said tyres would be going over it at 'about lunchtime'. Why is there no official opening? I'm really surprised, it's been such a long time coming. They could have had a wakky races event to launch it. Ooer.
