Anyone heard anything more about this tower they're proposing for behind the Pavilion. last thing I heard the council had agreed to let the land, but the tower itself hasn't yet got planning permission. I seem to remember the people behind it saying it wouldn't be built in time for the Olympics if they didn;t get permission straight away. Anyone know anything? Anyone heard anything? What do you think about it?

Not sure about the tower - I thought it was going to a council planning meeting this week, but apparently it hasn't, so I guess it will be on the agenda for the next planning meeting in August or maybe September, but they will have to get cracking and get permission and start building pronto if they want to finish it in time for the Olympics!!!!

They have just release pictures of the glass pod being built in Germany before it is shipped to Weymouth and welded to the end of the pier. Hope to have photos and more info up shortly.
