Year-on-year comparisons released by Dorset Police show that total crime dropped in Dorset by 4.8% comparing crime figures for 2008/09 to 2009/10 – this being the fourth consecutive year that total crime has fallen in the county.

There have also been significant decreases in violent crime, robbery and vehicle crime – with violent crime dropping by 5.5%, robbery falling by 16.8% and vehicle crime reducing by 7.4%.
