As far as I know this car park has nothing to do with the council. It is extortionate through.

It is not only this company - it's always around this time of year that the local DCC Wardens get desperate for revenue. I live in a one way street so the parking is only down one side. I know I was wrong but at 10pm at night I came home to find no spaces and parked up for ten minutes because I was going out again. I came out and had a ticket. I would not have a problem with this but the reason I received it was due to the Traffic Warden using the last remaining space in order to wait for people to catch. Talk about creating a parking offence for his own benefit!!
That is really unfair! Did you complain? I'm sure they do hover, knowing/hoping someone will park badly, then they can "pounce"...

i am not a resident of Weymouth, but i come to the town every year for my hols.If everyone with offstreet parking or driveway spaces would let them out during holiday season or especially for the olympic sailing weeks this would solve so many parking problems and give the drive owners a boost to their income. Spaces in and around Weymouth will be well sought after and would be able to charge a higher rate. Some drive owners are even offering accommodation and car valeting as an extra service just for the olympic sailing weeks.

StuartMorris advised that the Weymouth Old Town car park is not L.A. land, not being local I was unaware. However, a Council representative has contacted me and put me right and to also inform me that there has been over 500 complaints regarding this set up.
From a personal point, after I returned my valid parking ticket they had the audacity to write to me saying that: "As a measure of goodwill" they would not persue me for the initial charge of 130 GBP.!!!
How sweet!!!
The Councillor to whom I spoke with re PARKINGEYE had spoken to one of their executives. Described him as an arogant little +++++ problem is the land they are employed to manage is private and they can get away with much as long as they stay legal!!! A National attack on these cowboys wouldn't go down too well with potential companies looking to hire PARKINGEYE with the ensuing bad publicity.
