Tell me why W&PBC support bullies & sharp practice merchant dressed up as Car Park Management operatives!
Example ....... left motor on 29th December 2011 in the West Car Park behind Brewers Quay, bought ticket and displayed, no problems. Touch surprised when I received a Parking Charge demand for £90.00 plus an admin charge of £30.00. [reduction if you pay up straight away]
This is a total scam as far as I can see PARKINGEYE [the operators] have a licence to print money because most people will dicard old parking tickets and therefore have no prove that they purchased one resulting in PARKINGEYE RUBBING their dirty hands and collecting another £130.00.
I am an untidy individual and managed to find mine, but I am not smug just angry.
I have written to a Councillor who has responsibilities in this area and wait to see the respnce,,meantime I do strongly urge anyone who need to park in the Old Town West car park to make sure they keep all their tickets..

It is not only this company - it's always around this time of year that the local DCC Wardens get desperate for revenue. I live in a one way street so the parking is only down one side. I know I was wrong but at 10pm at night I came home to find no spaces and parked up for ten minutes because I was going out again. I came out and had a ticket. I would not have a problem with this but the reason I received it was due to the Traffic Warden using the last remaining space in order to wait for people to catch. Talk about creating a parking offence for his own benefit!!

That is really unfair! Did you complain? I'm sure they do hover, knowing/hoping someone will park badly, then they can "pounce"...

i am not a resident of Weymouth, but i come to the town every year for my hols.If everyone with offstreet parking or driveway spaces would let them out during holiday season or especially for the olympic sailing weeks this would solve so many parking problems and give the drive owners a boost to their income. Spaces in and around Weymouth will be well sought after and would be able to charge a higher rate. Some drive owners are even offering accommodation and car valeting as an extra service just for the olympic sailing weeks.

StuartMorris advised that the Weymouth Old Town car park is not L.A. land, not being local I was unaware. However, a Council representative has contacted me and put me right and to also inform me that there has been over 500 complaints regarding this set up.
From a personal point, after I returned my valid parking ticket they had the audacity to write to me saying that: "As a measure of goodwill" they would not persue me for the initial charge of 130 GBP.!!!
    How sweet!!!

500 complaints! That is one hell of a lot of irate motorists! I wonder if the council will take action against Parking Eye...?

The Councillor to whom I spoke with re PARKINGEYE had spoken to one of their executives. Described him as an arogant little +++++ problem is the land they are employed to manage is private and they can get away with much as long as they stay legal!!! A National attack on these cowboys wouldn't go down too well with potential companies looking to hire PARKINGEYE with the ensuing bad publicity.

Hopefully they are aware they are not held in good esteem by locals and many motorists are simply avoiding their car park. So maybe they will be forced to stop targeting motorists in this way to avoid further revenue loss.
