ONE MORE REASON WHY IT"S INSANE OF THE GOVERNMENT TO AXE THE PORTLAND COASTGUARD HELICOPTER & CALL CENTRE: At 1.36pm yesterday, Yacht Calypso, with 2 persons on board, was assisted to Portland Marina by Weymouth RNLI Inshore Lifeboat after he suffered loss of engine and headsail, east of Grove Point on Portland. Portland Bill Coastguards were tasked to provide safety cover from the clifftop and then meet the vessel in the Marina.
