Witness appeal after boy attacked in Weymouth

Police in Weymouth are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward after a robbery in the Wyke Regis area of the town which left a teenage boy with injuries.

The incident, in which three men attacked a 16-year-old Weymouth boy before stealing a quantity of cash, happened in Verne Road, near to The Bath Store, between 12am and 12.30am on Saturday, 28 August 2010.
The victim sustained grazes and bruising as a result of the incident.
PC Vicky Bailey of Weymouth Police, said: “The victim was followed by the offenders as he walked along the alleyway between the Nothe and Brewers Quay, up Rodwell Avenue and into Buxton Road.
“Upon reaching Verne Road, one of the men grabbed him by the neck and dragged him into the road demanding his wallet.
“The robbers took £150 in cash and his mobile phone was broken during the attack.”
Two of the offenders were wearing dark coloured hooded tops and the third, a green fleecy hooded top.
PC Bailey continued: “I understand from the victim that a number of people walked past him when he was being followed by the offenders.
“I am keen to speak to anyone who may have seen the three men at Brewers Quay or in the Wyke Regis area.
“I would also like to speak to anyone who recognises the description of their clothing.
“I would encourage anyone with information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, to contact me urgently.”
