Man to appear in court charged with robbery and car hijacking

Dorset Police have confirmed they have charged a man in connection with the robbery at Abbotsbury Road Post Office and hijacking a car in Weymouth on 2 March.

Colin Paul Douglas, 25, of Weymouth, has been charged with the following offences:

1) A robbery at Abbotsbury Road Post Office on 2 March

 

2) Possession of a firearm whilst committing a Schedule One offence on 2 March

3) Dangerous driving on 2 March

4) Possession of a firearm with intent to resist arrest on 2 March

5) Possession of a firearm whilst committing a Schedule One offence, specifically, relating to the hijacking of a car on 2 March

6) Aggravated vehicle taking on 2 March

7) Possession of a firearm with intent to resist arrest on 4 March

Colin Paul Douglas has been remanded in police custody and is due to appear at Weymouth Magistrates Courts tomorrow (Monday) at 10am.

A 35 year old Weymouth woman was also arrested on Friday night on suspicion of assisting an offender.
