Weymouth Bay is famous for the number of pubs it crams into a relatively small seaside town. In fact you're spoilt for choice if you like a tipple - the only question is: where next?

People who come on holiday to Weymouth in Dorset leave good reviews on this site about the pubs they enjoy visiting, so in fact Weymouth People acts as a sort of alternative Weymouth tourist information outlet!

Here's our quick pick of the best - please tell us if we have missed out your favourite local!

Favourite pubs of the Weymouth tourist

Due to their proximity to the sea and Weymouth holiday parks, The Spyglass at Overcombe, The Ship on the harbour are normally rammed at peak season. But there's a good smattering of locals too - always a good sign you've found a good pub. Other favourites include Weymouth inns as far afield as the Kings Arms in Portesham, and the The Old Ship Inn at Upwey.

Pubs in Weymouth harbour

The Red Lion at Hope Square is always popular, especially in summer because of the big courtyard outside and heated parasols in winter. The Kings Arms in Trinity Road has recently brought in Charity and Bev to do their karaoke - ******oke is not to be missed. Belt out a big 80s hit to your heart's content!  And the Sailors Return, on the other side of the harbour behind Prezzo, is a great venue for live music and has a traditional spit and sawdust feel.

Weymouth pubs that are haunted

The Boot is legendary as Weymouth's oldest pub. Ghost tours are laid on in the summer if you're feeling brave. The Black Dog is supposed to have a ghost living in the fireplace. You might be able to see it, if you squint after a few whiskys...

Pubs on Portland

The Cove House Inn is a firm favourite for its stunning location on The Esplanade at Chesil Cove. And the Royal Manor Arms in Fortuneswell has a simply fabulous range of ciders and offers a warm welcome into the wee hours...

And finally...

The White Hart is situated right in the heart of the town centre, next to Cineworld Weymouth - so always a good place to pop into for a G&T just before going in to watch the latest Bond movie - and is always bustling and cheerful. Its pub garden is always rammed on sunny days as well. Cheers!

Moby Dicks on the seafront has changed for the better since it used to be the Cork & Bottle. Very good food at great prices, also good place to watch the football.

Why haven't you mentioned the Old Rooms? Very popular pub on the harbourside, also lots of locals go to the George on the other side of the harbour.
