Weymouth Recycling Centre closures in January

Weymouth and Portland's recycling centres are due to close this month while deep cleaning work is carried out.
The maintenance, described as 'essential' will close the Weymouth site on Preston Beach Road from Tuesday 15th January until it reopens on Friday 18th January.
The Portland centre on Easton Road will close on Tuesday 29th January and reopen on Friday 1st January.
As well as getting all the muck out of the crevices, the 'deep clean' will see maintenance of the landscapes, relining of parking bays and a general sprucing up of the sites, ready for another year of filth.
Director of the Dorset Waste Partnership Steve Burdis said: "The deep clean is part of a planned maintenance programme for all our HRCs built into our contract with operators W&S Recycling. As a result, there is no extra cost for the deep clean treatments.
"We have chosen a relatively quiet time of year and the least busy part of the week to carry out this work, minimising disruption for local people as much as possible. For practical and safety reasons we need to close the site to visitors during this period."
If residents find themselves with something really smelly that they absolutely have to get rid of during the closures, they will be able to use any of the Dorset Waste Partnership's other 10 sites across the county.
