Weymouth is set to shiver this week as temperatures contionue to hover below zero.

According to the BBC weather forecast for the Esplanade area, temperatures could hit -1 tomorrow, -2 on Wednesday and Thursday and -3 on Friday.

Although frosts and snow hit high places in Dorset today, especially between Dorchester and  Bridport, it looks like Weymouth will escape any flurries for the foreseeable future.

It looks to stay bright however, with sun predicted for the next few days with a bit of cloud edging in just before the weekend.

Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens, which enjoys its own microclimate enabling many tropical plants to flourish, has yet to experience a frost so far this winter. Head Gardener Steve Griffith said: "We are very lucky in that we have not had a frost yet - even so, a lot of our plants have been wrapped up to guard them against the cold." You can check out some pictures of plants in their winter jackets on the Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens Facebook Page.

It's all a far cry from 3/12/2010, when snow replaced Weymouth's golden sands. Remember that? Take a look at our pictures of the Jubilee Clock covered in the white stuff
