Recycle your Christmas Tree for free!

Real Christmas trees are being collected by councils in Weymouth, Portland and West Dorset between Thursday 5 January and Wednesday 1 February.
Residents can leave trees alongside their brown bins to be collected.
Book ahead - 48 hours in advance. You can do this online at www.dorsetforyou.com/christmastreerecycling, or ring 01305 251010. Then all you have to do is leave the tree out on the same day you would leave your kerbside recycling out.
If you're confused about rubbish and recycling collections across West Dorset, Weymouth and Portland over the festive period, here's the plan for the next few days:
- Today's (Wednesday 28 December) collections will take place tomorrow (Thursday 29 December)
- Thursday 29 December collections will take place on Friday 30 December
- Friday 30 December collections will take place on Saturday 31 December
- Normal collections will resume on Bank Holiday Monday 2 January 2012.
The collected trees will be composted, so the councils can avoid massive landfill charges.
Residents can also take their real Christmas trees to their local household recycling centre – locations can be found at www.dorsetforyou.com/householdrecyclingcentres
