Following the enormous success of the Lions Beach Motocross event that brought hi-octane fun to Weymouth Beach in October, February will see top-class Quad racing action hit the sands.

The beach will once again be transformed into a challenging and exciting course for riders from the ages of six to 72, from all over the UK and some international riders too.

The event will take place over the weekend of February 9th and 10th, and will be free to spectators who are expected to line up along the Esplanade to watch the fun.

Weymouth always provides an impressive array of events throughout the year but it's hoped that the Dickies Workwear Weymouth Beach Quad Race will bring crowds of people to the seafront during the off-season when tourism is at its lowest point.

Weymouth and Portland Borough Council Briefholder for tourism and leisure, Ian Bruce, said: "This event should provide a welcome out of season boost for the town and looks to be a spectacular occasion.

"I wish ORE Events the best of luck with this new motoring event in Weymouth."
