Parts of Dorset are back on snow alert for tomorrow (Tuesday 22nd January) after a heavy fall before the weekend caused chaos on roads and shut most of the county's schools.

The Met Office has a yellow alert for the whole county, but forecasters are being very wary about predicting exactly when and where snow might fall.

Martin Young, Met Office Chief Forecaster, said: "The atmosphere is finely balanced across southwestern areas of Britain, with some places seeing heavy rain and others seeing heavy snow on Tuesday.

"There is some uncertainty about exactly where the boundary will lie and everyone should continue to be aware of the risk of severe weather and plan ahead for possible travel delays and disruption to transport."

As ever, the regions most likely to see snow are the higher ground areas and areas further away from the coast, although conceivably any part of the county could see some snowfall as we move into tomorrow evening.
