A group of Travel and Tourism students from Weymouth College took a

tour of a luxury 5-star hotel this week, part of their regular visits to

industry to gather experience for when they enter the sector as employees.

Year 2 students from the BTEC Extended Diploma in Travel & Tourism

were shown around Summer Lodge in Evershot, part of the luxury Red Carnation

Hotel Group. The tour included the spacious grounds, several luxury bedrooms,

the restaurant and bar. The students then finished off their trip by being

treated to refreshments on the lawn.

Lecturer Sarah Lawrence said: "This is a great opportunity for the

students to experience exactly how to provide a 5-star service to their

customers. Because this is a family-owned business, the staff are treated

really well and strive to offer the best possible service for their guests. The

hotel is keen to establish good links with Weymouth College in order to provide

training possibilities for the future."
